Friday, 14 October 2011 04:54
In the afternoon of 11th January, the representatives of Singapore International School belonging to the KinderWorld Group in Vietnam arrived Quang Ngai to visit the “prodigy”, Nguyen Thanh Luan (5 years old staying at Hamlet 4, Nghia Dung Ward, Quang Ngai City) and his family to grant a scholarship of 120 million VND per year to him at Nghia Dung Primary School, Quang Ngai City. Furthermore, the representatives of the school also gave him Tet gifts and supported air tickets to Ho Chi Minh City for the day of his enrolment. As planned, he will commence his studying at Singapore International School at Saigon South, (Trung Son Residential Area, District 7) in the beginning of February 2009. Previously, after the testing of his ability in October 2008, Singapore International School confirmed that Luan has high mathematical abilities and is able to read Vietnamese fluently and to the millionth number. Luan is the 7th student in the school that has outstanding intelligence but unable to afford for a good quality education. Therefore, the school supports him the full scholarship. Because his family is financially weak, Singapore International School decided to provide his father, Nguyen Hong, a job in the school so that he can work here and care for his child.
